POV

POV, point of view: a cardón cactus in La Ventana, Baja California, Mexico. I found the cardóns here to be, on average, 5 to 10 feet taller than those on the Pacific side of the southern Baja Peninsula. They also grow in much higher density—covering fields and mountainsides for kilometers in dense thickets. Walking among them felt like being in an old-growth forest, but in the desert.
