I learned of a man who brings his bees into the Pass every summer so they can be closer to ample fireweed—a tall, fast-growing wildflower with vibrant pink to purple flowers. Fireweed provides an abundant and easily accessible food source for bees and its nectar creates a distinct flavour in the honey that’s popular among beekeepers and honey enthusiasts.
